I’m Eduardo, a Brazilian living in Lisbon. I run the Portuguese business of a lighting multinational, after years working on projects across Brazil and Europe. What kept me in the work is what light does to a place: an area that people used to avoid at night becomes somewhere with a nightlife of its own.
I grew up in inland Brazil, before the internet and mobile phones became part of everyday life. I read encyclopedias for fun, learned to program at 14 and found more people to talk to in early online communities.
The friendships I made back then are still the ones I keep. Some go back thirty years. A long meal with them is still my favorite way to spend an evening.
Other interests arrived later: investing, how people think, sports, technology and plenty of reading. This is a place to write about what I’m learning and the questions I keep coming back to.
What draws my attention
Investing & simplicity
Real estate, startups, stocks, bitcoin and ETFs. A personal interest in making investing simpler, with less constant attention and more room for the rest of life.
Beyond one field
Books, how people think, teaching and the occasional unexpected subject. My interests have never fitted neatly into a job title, and I like keeping it that way.

AI is the newer part of that mix. I build with it most days, mostly small agents and automations, to see what actually holds up.
